Tijesno is a limestone canyon of the Vrbas river about 12 km south of Banja Luka: barely a kilometre long but over 300 m deep, with dozens of bolted multipitch routes up to about 200 m and single-pitch sectors up to 9a+/b. It is the home of the annual Drill & Chill new-routing and highlining festival, and the area is still being developed by the local club Extreme Banja Luka, which asks visitors to get in touch. Most sectors are reached from above: drive up to the village of Rekavice (a small car park by Bar Vito), about 20 minutes from the valley road, and follow marked paths for about 15 minutes. Banja Luka has international bus links, with local buses and taxis to Rekavice. The season is March to June and September to November.
