Vaud Alps

Switzerland

The Miroir d'Argentine is the great limestone slab of the Vaud Alps, a 400 m mirror of compact rock above the Solalex pasture, reached from Bex or Villars via La Barboleuse. It faces north-west, so the sun arrives around midday and the season is summer, once the snow has gone from the slopes above. Solalex has pay parking and restaurants, and a seasonal bus runs from La Barboleuse from June to mid-September. Remix is the best known of its fully bolted lines.

Remix

The bolted way up the Miroir d'Argentine: fourteen pitches of compact limestone slab, with the difficulties in the first four pitches and long, easy, run-out friction above. A big day out at a modest grade with a mountain walk-off. Do not underestimate it.
