On the road east from Moutier, the Pic de Grandval above Grandval (Bernese Jura) and the Glatti Flue and Grosskopf above Welschenrohr (canton Solothurn) are south-facing limestone walls with a handful of long routes each. Pic de Grandval is about 40 minutes on foot from Grandval station, or 10 minutes from the nearest parking. Welschenrohr is about 30 minutes from the cemetery car park, on rock typical of the Basel Jura, correct overall but far from solid in places. Climbing at Welschenrohr is banned from 1 April to 30 June to protect chamois, and both walls are hot in summer, so autumn is the best season.
