Sicily (Palermo)

Monte Pellegrino is the limestone headland that rises straight out of the north side of Palermo, with big caves, roofs and concretion-covered walls above the coast road between Mondello and Addaura. The multipitch routes here are short in length but steep and exposed, and the newer ones are fully equipped with stainless bolts. Base yourself in Palermo or Mondello; Palermo airport is close, and the crags are reached by car from the Addaura and Mondello side or from the road up to the Santuario di Santa Rosalia. The north-facing walls are best in the cooler months; the topos stress dry conditions, as the rock can be slippery when damp.

Ramage

A steep, very exposed line up the left side of the double cave on the north flank of Monte Pellegrino, weaving through stalactites and concretions over a big overhang. The difficulties are never extreme for such steep ground, with the 6c+ crux on pitch 5 and 6a+ obligatory. Modern stainless bolting from 2020.
