Coll de Nargó & Oliana (Alt Urgell)

Grey limestone walls lining the Segre valley on the C-14 between Oliana and Coll de Nargó, in the Alt Urgell district of the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees. The Paret Bucòlica sits beside the road tunnels between the two villages and the Serra de les Canals rises directly above Oliana; both carry modern, closely bolted lines of four to seven pitches with short approaches. Coll de Nargó and Oliana have bars, shops and campsites, and the Tahussà bar in Coll de Nargó sells topos; you need a car, about two hours from Barcelona or an hour from Andorra. The faces look south-east, so autumn to spring is the season, with summer climbing only early or late in the day.

Pedra de Tartera

Five pitches of slabs on excellent grey limestone, on a sunny wall with a quick approach from the road. The difficulty builds to a 6b+ third pitch, with the odd bouldery move over small bulges. Closely bolted with parabolts and a good introduction to the Paret Bucòlica.
