Pic de Luc (Diois)

Le Claps, below the Pic de Luc just south of Luc-en-Diois, is a huge landslide: a tilted grey slab of limestone above a chaos of giant boulders where the Drôme drops over the Saut de la Drôme. The slab carries easy bolted multi-pitch lines facing south and south-west, and the boulders hold short sport routes; a via ferrata climbs the opposite side of the valley. Come by the D93 from Die and park near the Saut de la Drôme; Luc-en-Diois and Die are the nearest bases. The sunny slab can be climbed almost all year, including fine winter days, but it is too hot in summer.
