Annot

Annot is a small town in the Vaïre valley in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, just off the RN 202 between Digne and Nice, known for its sandstone boulders and single-pitch crags (the grès d'Annot). Nearby, above the Pont Saint-Joseph on the RN 202, a Verdon-style limestone pillar carries the sector's first bolted multipitch. Annot has a stop on the Chemins de fer de Provence line between Nice and Digne. The south-facing limestone suits spring, autumn and fine winter days; summer afternoons are hot.

Les Amants de Saint Jean

A short, homogeneous and varied 6a/6b route on Verdon-like limestone right above the RN 202 near Annot. Arête, a wild traverse, corners, cracks and technical walls, with a walk midway to a detached pinnacle called the menhir. Very well bolted and close to the road.
